iAtkos v7 on MSI Wind U100... help please...

Hello!

I am a new member in this forum... I have a "MSI Wind U100" Netbook and I've tried to install iAtkos v7, but I don't know which drivers to choose in the installation...and generally, which options, kernel etc.... is there a guide for iAtkos v7 for this specific netbook somewhere or has anyone of you managed to install it successfully??

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

The only success I've had with distros is with the WindOSX and SnowyWindOSX distros, but I recommend doing a retail install. If you search netbook snow leopard kexts you should find what you need.

I've had success with Iatkos v7 on my Samsung N120, similar hardware netbook. Try this :

I'm no great tech, and if that's your case, I think Iatkos is the way to go. Contrary to what our friend says here, my opinion is that a retail install is complicated and involves much more than adding a few kexts...

Good luck!

Actually its really easy to do a retail install if you already have a working hackintosh/Mac. If not a boot-132 disc like Empire-EFI works just as well. From my experience its faster and more stable then most distros.

I agree with you that if you have a working OSX, retail is surely the way to go. Retail is always better, more stable, as evidenced for instance by the windows decorations being funky in system config on some pref panes under Iatkos v7...10.5.7

What happens though is that most owners of netbooks don't have a working OSX install... most have XP or Linux, and some, including me, have no external CD/DVD drive nor a USB external drive... when I dumped the golden master to a partition to use as source, then modifying it using netbookinstaller, I had tons of kernel panics and there was lots to edit in config files, playing with different kexts etc. If there was a procedure to install a cd-less retail from a partition for N270/GMA950, I'd do it right away. But the guides I found are always complicated, as far as I'm concerned...

If you know a simple way, please tell me.

Thank you!
