So I finally got around to installing 10.5.2. Everything works pretty well out of the box except my x1600 card.
I chose the drivers during install. Booted up to a 1024x768 screen. Replaced the kexts with the ones I was using in 10.5.1. Looked promising, QE/CI worked, however all of my menus are black.
