Install failed: USB is read only(?) - cannot find essentials.pkg

Hello,

I've been trying to install Snow Leopard Retail using a usb formatted disk and applying myHack installer. I get to Snow Leopard installation screen, I get to about 25% of installation through and then I get the generic error 'the installer could not copy the necessary support files'.

The install log errors are:

URLForDirectory:inDomain:appropriateForURL:create:error:] returned nil for NSAutosavedInformationDirectory. Here's the error:

My Desktop PC setup:
-Intel Pentium Dual Core [email protected]
- Foxconn MB P43A01 with P45/P43 RevA3 chipset
- 2GB RAM DDR2 400MHz
- ATI Radeon HD 4770

- I have tried the installation with two different iso files of the retail dvd, just in case the image is damaged, but the same message comes up.
-I have also bought a new Hard Disk and created only one GUID partition, in case the windows partition-installation messed up with the installer. Again, this was not the case.
-BIOS settings should be correct, AHCI set, ACPI: S3(STR), etc, note that leopard installation boots.

I really would appreciate any help on this, I really need to get my Snow up and running!
