Install failed: USB is read only(?) - cannot find essentials.pkg
Hello,
I've been trying to install Snow Leopard Retail using a usb formatted disk and applying myHack installer. I get to Snow Leopard installation screen, I get to about 25% of installation through and then I get the generic error 'the installer could not copy the necessary support files'. The install log errors are: Code:
URLForDirectory:inDomain:appropriateForURL:create:error:] returned nil for NSAutosavedInformationDirectory. Here's the error: Jan 9 04:44:12 localhost Unknown[90]: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=642 UserInfo=0x106b33140 "You can’t save the file “Autosave Information” because the volume “USBMacOSX” is read only." Again, this was not the case. -BIOS settings should be correct, AHCI set, ACPI: S3(STR), etc, note that leopard installation boots. I really would appreciate any help on this, I really need to get my Snow up and running! ![]() Thanks, Alex |
