ClevoD900F (Eurocom D900F/Sager NP9280)

Has anyone had any luck installing Snow Leopard to a Clevo/Eurocom D900F [also sold as Sager NP9280] "laptop" (really a desktop replacement with a desktop mobo)? The specs follow. Form the various boards and forums, I see nothing in my hardware that should be particularly problematic.

Specs are as follows:
Core i7-950
Motherboard: unknown
6GB DDR3 memory
ICH10 ACHI Controller (Intel 82801J)
Intel 5520/5500/X58 I/O Hub
SATA-II 500GB Seagate Momentus 7200RPM (ST9500420AS)
NVidia GeForce GTX 280M
Matsushita Blu-ray Combo CD/DVD drive BD-MLT-UJ240AS
4 USB ports,
Integrated BisonPro [I believe that there are no supporting kexts for this yet]
Realtek Ethernet Controller RTL8111/81688 PCI Express
Intel PRO/Wireless 5300AGN (Shiloh) WiFi Network Controller
JMicron OHCI IEEE-1394 Controller
JMicron JMB38XMS/SD/MMC Controller (7-in-1 reader)
Synaptics SynPS/2 Touchpad
i8042 Keyboard port with AT translated set2 keyboard
Realtek High Definition Audio Controller

Although I am a noob, I have been reading this and other boards for many months and I have tried 2 dozen or more different approaches in the past 2 weeks without success. I am attempting this as a learning experience, so any advice is highly appreciated.

Most installs hang before getting even to the install using the retail DVD (which I have). If the install shows that it was successful, any reboot (with -v) results in the system hanging in mid message. Have tried every combination of boot string options (cpus=1(thru 8)/busratio=20 (thru 23)/-x/-f/-arch=i386, etc.) without luck.

Closest success was a one-time good install using the USB restore method that booted into SL once, I installed Chameleon so that the HDD would boot but on reboot I got several KPs (off screen) and it never booted again. Full erasure of SATA drive and identical retry to install did not work nor did start from scratch with USB with identical stuff. It is impossible to see all that scrolls by just before it fails.

Any suggestions/thoughts as to how to figure out what is causing the problems or contact from someone with a successful install to the above would be appreciated.

Advance thanks!!

Interesting

I had also planned to install Leopard on this machine. I am disappointed to find you had problems. I also notice that no one responded and that was several months ago. The machine seems perfect to fun Leopard as the base install and then run VirtualBox and Windows on top of it for work applications. This is because it can be loaded with up to 12 GB of ram. Did you ever get it to work?

I installed 10.6.3 retailed DVD on HP DV7-3085dx laptop using this method http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=221653

You may try the V1.15 which is easy. DSDT may be a problem which is hardware dependent. While you trying, remove ram to have 4G only.

I installed it but was unable to boot Snow Leopard afterwards. Kernel Panic
