How to install Snow Leopard on a Toshiba Satellite L350

I have a Toshiba Satellite L350 with an duo lintel processor and 2 GB ram running adequately with OS X 10.5.2, however every time I update to a newer version I’m prevented from loading or even restoring back, in which case I have been reformatting.

OS X 10.5.2 is working great it is fairly out of date; therefore want to update to Snowleopard 6.10, as I already have this on disc; I can start the installing process however my Toshiba keeps resetting itself at about 20% thought, I am glad to say that this is the only version that allows me back to previous version of 10.5.2 without any problems. However I would really like some help on installing snowleopard,.

Is the computer restarting during the installation due to drivers issues and could some please explain a little more about the functioning Kexts, I am assuming these are the drivers,– how do you use these and install them ?

I would be most appreciative for any help
