Can I have SL on the HDD already having installed Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux
I have a primary partition vacant and I wish to have SL on it. But I want to know whether I can install SL on the HDD having ntfs, ext4, linux swap partition? I am using GRUB Bootloader(Ubuntu is on the first primary partition).
Moreover, I fulfill the standard sys requirement specs. If I can then please refer me to the appropriate guide following which I can setup SL. Thank You |

Yes you should be able to the only problem you will run into is having to reinstall Ubuntu in order to get Grub as your main Bootloader again, also You will need a modified version of SL in order to install it on an MBR partition map(also I recommend making sure your Mac partition is at least 40 gigs)

ok...I know how to get GRUB functioning back without reinstallation. and yes I have 40Gigs of free space too. So now I need a "HOW TO" guide, please if someone can refer me...

really there is no definitive How To guide because all hardware is different all I can say is do some research on different Snow Leopard discs and choose one that has most of the kexts that match your computer's specs burn it to a disc and boot from it and see what happens the hardest part is getting it to boot after it's installed and since you know how to use grub that should be simple. Once you find a modified SL Disc it should be easy to get it going cause once it boot's its all a guided install from there If you get stuck at a certain point just ask for help.

Is it "essentially" required to have leopard installed on a HDD to get SL working on another one??
