I need Snow Leopard on AMD 1090T

A long time ago I had Leopard 10.5 running nice on a quad core Intel. Some time later, because of budget reasons, I had to replace it with an AMD 1090T on a Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 (rev. 2.1).

The few times I tried to load any version of OS X onto it, whether it was 10.5 or 10.6, I couldn't get past the installation screen if that far, and eventually I quit because I didn't have time to keep trying. I assumed that because I had bought an AMD my chances of actually being able to install it and get it working trouble free were slim, so I quit.

Now I would like to give it another try, in hopes I can edit in the new FCP X. Do I have a really steep uphill road trying to make it work on my machine? I mean, would it take me hours or days? Because hours is something I have, days, not so much. Can someone please give me a hand, point me to the right downloads and tips? I have the retail Snow Leopard DVD, but obviously I was never able to make it work at all.

Oh, I forgot to mention that my video card is a Radeon 4850HD with 1GB of RAM.

Thanks
