Atheros L2 Ethernet driver?

I was recently running FreeBSD 7.2 on my system, but then got curious about running Mac so I just installed iATKOS v7 (which I assume is Leopard 10.5.7). Issue is, I'm not getting internet on there...in FreeBSD 7.2 I had to manually add my driver to the kernel configuration file in order to enable internet on my system. Because Mac OS X is built on FreeBSD I was hoping I might be able to use the same method to get net on Mac, however, the file structure is different and I can't find the GENERIC file (the kernel config file I enable the driver in) that's assuming the file exists in Mac. I'm needing to enable the Atheros L2 Ethernet driver or find a way to install it. Anyone know how I can do that? I'm not new to Unix/Linux..but am new to Mac so if there is a place to download the driver or a way to enable it in Mac without downloading it, please let me know. If I must download and install, please let me know how to intall. Any help is appreciated.
