nVidia 9800 GT 512mb issues

Hi, I've been trying eveything i can think off to get my card to work.. I don't know what I'm doing wrong... Here's my specs...

Dell E521 <with many replaced parts*..
nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 512mb (EVGA)*
AMD x2 64 6000+*
Broadcom 440x
nForce chipset.. not quite sure..
Sigmatel 9227 Audio

And I choose the following options at install(iPC 10.5.6 Final or something)..

9.5.0 VooDoo Kernel
Legacy Time Machine Fix
No Video Drivers
AppleNForceATA nForce Drivers
Sigmatel 9227
AppleBCM440xEthernet
Patched USB Drivers
Seatbelt.kext(For VooDoo .dmg mounting issue)

Everything works PERFECTLY except... QE/Ci.. well.. and res changing and such..

I've tried using the nVidia Installer 9xxx v2(I think it's called) and using the 8800 GT efi string(from OSX86 Tools, someone said it worked, it didn't for me), I've tried using this method for the 9800 GT(not 8800 GT like before) and it still didn't work.. Now... when I say it doesn't work here.. I mean the mouse gets erratic and unusable and sometimes when QE\CI decides to enable on boot.. The top bar is invisble and just the text shows and the mouse stil lags erratically.. The resolution changing works but it's completely unusable.. Also when I check the System Profiler while it's doing this it says Supported for everything.. It just LAGS..

Using NVkush gives me the same results.
NVinject gave me a black screen at boot.
I don't remember what NVdarwin did but I remember it not working..

I feel like I'm SOOOO close to getting everything running flawlessly.. Someone please enlighten me as to what is going wrong..

I installed iDeneb 1.3 (10.5.5)

Same card works fine took a bunch of messing around with kexts and ROMS.

U might wanna look at NVdarwin, Nvinject and NVinject GO for 512 for best results

Nvidia 9000 Series Driver v2 + Older Nvinject 0.2.0 works for me

you could try using the Titan Kext which worked for my 6200 512 also.

ive never had luck with NVkush, i dont have the computer anymore my mate does ill check what kexts he has installed and get back to you.

Thank you sooo much for the reply.. I'm gonna reinstall tonight(I installed xp so I could game a little) and try using older versions of the injectors.. I didn't think it would change anything.. I've thought about roms but I have no idea what I would flash it to and I have no idea how to :-\..

Restarting to the DVD now I'll tell you the results.

Edit: I just installed NVinject 0.2.0 and the 9000 v2 package thing and got slightly different results... It booted up fine and nothing looked wrong except it was at a slightly lower resolution and QE/CI wasn't enabled.. I moved the mouse for a few seconds and it was snappy and responsive and then it just paused.. and 30 seconds later it moved like 10 pixels to the right.. and it just kept doing that... The graphics glitches and the erratic mouse movement were replaced by just a LAGGY cursor.. When I would manage to click something it would happen instantaneously and animations would work fine.. just the mouse movement was slow.. I'm gonna try another older version and see what happens..

Edit 2: I managed to get to system profiler before the mouse started lagging and it said I was using a 256mb card and QE/CI wasn't supported Nvidia 0.1.5 Gave me the same results as 0.2.0.. I was able to change the resolution though

Edit 3: Using efi strings + nVidia 9000 v2 I was able get QE/CI enabled and my card detected properly but the graphics glitches and erratic mouse problem was there.. ugh.. so close... Now I'm off to try Natit.. at 1:30 AM..

I might write a lot in this thread.. It's mostly for me to keep track.. But I would LOVE some more help with this...

hey there.

i had problems with my 9800 512mb at start.. but, i've found some kind of solution..
actually, it was pretty dumb what i had to do....

all it took me, was to plug in my lcd display in the first slot of the video card....
cuz, my hackintosh was bugging over the issue that my display was actually set up as the second display... :/ dont know wtf it meant.. but... there it was.. a solution to my problems...
right after that, i got all the resolutions i needed.. and full graphics QE/CI
i've used NVinject before..
search some of my posts here.. i've posted about several months ago how i did this...

the mouse lagging is related with one file form the quicktime folder, you should search the net about that one, i cant remember what's the name of the file.. you just need to delete it... simple..dont you think?

hope this'll help you as i know how frustrating this can get...

Try the new Chameleon. It now has the ability to automatically detect your NVidia video card.

@vladrxpx: I have the same card and am running 10.5.7; do you use any EFI strings for it or any extra kexts installed, or does it run straight off of a vanilla install?

I used ACPI Patcher to generate video dsdt for 9800gt 1gig.
Dsdt patching is ALL that is required to get it to work.

This made it work 100% in Snow Leopard and also Leopard.

No problems so far.

GigaByte EP45T-UD3R V1.1 E8200@stock 4GB DDR3 1600 2x500GB/1x1.5TB HD
Zotac 9800 GT ECO 1GB

@blaising
i used NVinject and installed vanilla kernel from it.. didn't use any EFI strings, and everything was working. didn't use any kind of patching.. have xfx 9800gt 512mb
as i said, i only had problems because i plugged in the LCD in the 2nd slot.. so I only had problems with the resolution.. now I have it at 1680x1050 on Acer AL2215W 22"

@STLVNUB
could you give some insights on what this ACPI patcher does? Did your video card worked at first? or did you encounter any problems?

the only problem I'm dealing right now is that when I use Expose for revealing all the windows, and select one and release the key, it lags for a little.. kinda bugs me.. :/

I really dont think an injector is going to fix it.. I've tried EVERYTHING.. almost.. I'll try it though when I get the time..

Thank you guys for helping me though I've been kinda busy lately and I'll try your ideas when I can.
