Pavilion p6230f AMD 64-Bit...frustrated...
I've attempted to install iDeneb v1.5.7, iAtkos v7 on my system, it gets to the point of a grey screen with the spinning beachball but gets no further.
I have not added any kexts to help my install and not sure if i need to or not. I have done the following to get to the point I am at: Enabled AHCI instead of RAID Disabled On Board LAN Disabled On Board Firewire Disabled On Board Sound A couple of errors i have seen while using -v. Upgrade Bootloader Jettisoning Kernel Linker Root File System is Read Only Skipping Kernal Link Generation Core Raid Server [43]:15107 Not Responding My specs are below in my signature. Ok so I got a little bit further on my own. I had not tried using the -x option as of yet, so when I did I actually got to the install screen, was able to utilize the disk utility for partitioning and formating, and it did the complete install of iDeneb 1.5.7.
But I've run into another roadblock. It continues to reboot over and over again, a small flash of white and then reboots. If I stop it to enter other options I see the Chamelon, and then the prompt. I tried using -x again to see if that would get me booted up but instead it shows a white screen with a chrome apple? So I'm guessing I am missing a particular kext, or theres a kext that is causing the issue, how can i determine which on it is?

HP Pavilion p6230f with 64-Bit AMD Phenom II x 4 810 2.6ghz

Possibly a step further...
Tracked down a copy of iDeneb v1.6, during the install I used the Hardware Info segment in the install menu. Within the list it states "1002:9710 Ati Technologies, Inc. Error: Unknown Device" Since I knew my video card was integrated into the mainboard (not by choice) I started looking for kexts for it, only to find that there is no support for this particular card in OSx86, which is a real bummer since its the only thing keeping me from having a perfect install. So my question is, will there ever be support for this board, and 2) Can anyone recommend a card that will work with OSx86, with Dual DVI Output and cheap? no, if it isn't supported now it most likely never will
get a card that is listed working here - your best bet http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/in...0.6.2#NVIDIA_2 |

Ok I have since purchased an EVGA GeForce 9500GT 1GB. The system profiler recognizes the video card which is a step in the right directon... or so I hope.
I have installed and reinstalled iDeneb 1.6 numerous times with success, but when it boots i never see the OS x start up screen. My computer usually stops on a grey screen with a black mouse cursor and thats it. I have tried all the different tags, -x -f -s, etc etc and have not gotten any further. There was one moment where i did get a blue background, and my 2nd screen even kicked on, but no mouse cursor and the system doesn't appear to be doing anything further, no HD light or anything, but I don't think it has halted as I can actually open the cd drive. I am about to give up hope on this, I'd really like to see it working on my system, i understand that its easier on intel systems, but i have seen a number of people on here running it on AMD systems. I just finished downloading Hazard, so hopefully I will have better luck. I want to have the cleanest install i can get. Is the best way with a retail disc and Empire? or is Hazard just as clean. Hopefully someone will be willing to help me out, I have tried a number of things on this and other forums with no luck. HP Pavilion p6230f with 64-Bit AMD Phenom II x 4 810 2.6ghz

Without any success with iDeneb and iAtkos, and Hazard i thought i would give LawlessPPC a try. Well what do you know it worked.
I have to use -x to install it. Then during the start up installation i fell into that keyboard/previous account loop that i had seen on a forum. So I restarted using "Graphics Mode"="640x480x32" as it skips the loop and takes you right into Leopard, SWEET! I still have a few things to figure out, hopefully someone can help me. 1) It's only recognizing that I have one core instead of four. Hazard 10.6.2 automatically recognized the cores 2) Realtek HD Audio 3) Wireless Atheros Card 4) Lan 5) USB 5) GeForce 9500GT with Dual Display/DVI. Working at 1680x1050x32@60hz Recognizes both of my 20" Dell Widescreens 6) Updating to Snow Leopard! - Now officially using Hazard Snow Leopard 10.6.2 using the Server Client ISO HP Pavilion p6230f with 64-Bit AMD Phenom II x 4 810 2.6ghz

After many an install, and countless frustration. I finally got Snow Leopard Hazard running on my system. It detected my GeForce 9500GT Dual DVI without a problem, both displays are working and it even detected that they are both dell screens, pretty cool.
My Atheros wireless card started working out of the blue as well as my Realtek HD Audio, which is awesome. But the big problem I am facing now is why I can only run basic functions. When I attempt to run iTunes, Firefox I get an error. When I download Firefox I tried to install it to the applications folder. It said I didn't have permissions to do that. I can't understand why this stuff isn't working, when I try to repair permissions it says "Error: No Installer Packages can be found for this disk" HP Pavilion p6230f with 64-Bit AMD Phenom II x 4 810 2.6ghz

Hey. Glad I found someone working on this. Jumping in with you.
I'm just starting out on an install with this computer. How did you get Hazard to work? I get stuck on the grey screen. 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean. Free credits ($100) for InfMac readers. |
