I am running the vanilla kernel but my SMBios.kext shows my machine as a Satellite L305. and wont update my system, I am running the Golden Master edition.

@ MDG,

would you pls tell me what driver do you use for your x3500 onboard graphic card? I got blue screen with steve's 32bit driver on HDMI.
