ATI™ Raedon Mobile HD 3200

Is there any drivers for this card for OSx86?
I installed iATKOS v7 and was hoping on using iMovie and Final Cut Pro.

I was reading that people could use EFI strings for this.
What is an EFI String?

Please help, without my GPU enabled, my processor tries to handle everything, eventually overheating and completely shutting off my laptop.

Thanks for everything,
Brandon Farnia

Unfortunately, there is no driver in existence for the HD 3200, Mobility or otherwise. I read a couple of people were in the starting stages of making one for their system, but have since not heard a peep. And this was months ago.
Unless someone else has heard something I missed the memo on regarding the HD 3200, I'm sorry to say iMovie and Final Cut Pro ain't happening.

Thanks anyways.
But since you have been so helpful so far, I was wondering if you know anything about capability.
Sorry to make you do more work...
But I was going to buy a new Mobo to make my desktop capable with the system.

I was going to have:
Mobo: DFI 790FX Linx: Clickie Mee
Processor: AMD Phenom I x4 (64-Bit)
GPU: nVidia GeForce 9400gt
HDD: 2x 300Gb in RAID 1 via SATA and 1 300Gb in IDE

[My previous mobo is old and I believe it is the cause for the repeating "Still Waiting For Root Device" message when installing iATKOS v7]

If you can, please tell me if this setup would work.
Thanks, your have been a huge help.

Yeah alright.
First off, the 9400GT is too new. I'd suggest the 8800GT as many (that I read) have success with it.
What's the model of your old mobo? It could just be you need to use a different distro for it. As for the newer one you selected there, {-EDIT- was talking out my @$$ there}, the SB600 should be OK, though I'd personally recommend going with a SB700-based board.
The processor should be fine. You may have to resort to picking up a distro designed for Phenoms (such as LawlessPPC if I'm not mistaken), but it should nonetheless work fine.
Hope this helps.

The old one was an ECS GeForce 7050M-M. And I had no idea what a distro is. And a GeForce 9400 gt will not work?

sorry I'm so nub.
I just hope you won't get mad at me.

Thanks Brandon

Oh go away you n00b!

Just joking. OK, so I looked into the 9400GT. Apparently there's sporadic drivers being tossed around for it so it might indeed work. But if I were you I'd Google around for a more likely to work card before putting down $$$ on a card for the sake of good Hackintoshing.
As for the mobo...bleh, the old one's an nForce. No wonder you've got issues. The board you're looking at would definitely be a better choice, though you should probably be able to find an SB600/700 mobo for a bit cheaper than that one unless you really need 3 PCI-e slots.
As for what a distro is...notice how there's differently named prepatched OS X discs floating around (eg. iAtkos, Kalyway, iPC)? They're called distributions, or distros. Simple as that.

So you are my favorite person right now.
So heres the dealeo...
I already have a system, specs below. And I want to keep my 9400Gt without buying another card, and If I did buy another card, Id make it some high end super card, like 2 4870x2 in crossfire, and if those 2 got lonely, then I always have another PCI-E slot to cheer the cards up.
(What could you do with 4 Gigs of VRAM?)

Specifications...
Mobo: ECS GeForce 7050M-M (Plan on upgrading)
CPU: Phenom Mark-I (Maybe get a Mark-II in the future)
RAM: Corsair something something, Linx
HDD: WD 2x 300Gb in RAID 1 SATA, 300Gb IDE (Is SATA or IDE better for OSx86?)
GPU: BFG 9400Gt 512Mb
Wifi Card: Linksys WMP54G 4.1 (Is this compatible?)

If you could tell me if I need to fix anything I will do anything you want. Including giving you a shoutout in my YouTube videos.

EDIT:
RAM Link was the wrong RAM, link updated.
