IPC 10.5.6 Final no sound - ALC889a

Hi all,

I am a newbie on OSX86.

Recently, I installed IPC 10.5.6 Final on my PC.

H/W spec: Gigabyte X48-DS4 motherboard with ALC889a RealTek audio
eVGA Nvidia 9800GTX graphic card
Using an internal SPDIF cable to connect the motherboard & the graphic
card so that I can run audio & video thru HDMI cable.

I am able to get OSX86 to run selecting Intel ICHx SATA chipset and was able to get the video card running using GFX string.

However, I am unable to get any sound.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks,
Kaede

I have tried both method. One using the Alcinject and AppleHDA kext. and also tried the kext by tmongolk in posted insanely mac. I also tried Targu method using the AppleHdaPatcher.

I am able to get sound coming out from the internal speaker if I select the output source as internal speaker. However, i am not getting any sound on the HDMI when selecting digital output.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Umm...working HDMI on OS X - not sure if you`ll manage to do that. Anyone can confirm ?
