Strange Issue regarding instal and update to 10.5.7

I currently have a stable install of LawlessPPC 10.5.4 but I need to update to 10.5.7 and whenever I try and patch the combo update, i get kernel panics or general system freezes.

I tried iDeneb 1.3 with the view to trying the ideneb 10.5.7 combo update. It installs fine but wont boot unless in safe mode. I heard there might be an issue with my chipset that requires a patch.

So I downloaded v1.4. This wont even boot into the install page. It constantly reads "still waiting for root device".

I have tried SATA controller in IDE, AHCI and RAID mode and none work.

I am stuck, really need to get 10.5.7 so I can install my GTX260 graphics card as I need to use Final Cut Pro.

System specs:

Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe nForce 570 SLi
AMD Phenom 9750 2.4GHz quad core
2 x 2GB Crucial Red Ballistix RAM DDR2 800
SATA HDs
EVGA GTX260 896MB Video Card

Suggestions would be much appreciated

Thanks

I strongly suggest you try iAtkos v7. It includes the latest software update(10.5.7) from apple. It also comes with a video driver specifically for the EVGA GTX200 series.
HOPE THIS HELPS
GOOD LUCK

did you boot using -v to see what the problem was? If not you should and post what you see.
