Hey Bettarg, welcome dude. Here is what I did.
First. Go and download PCWIZ's DSDT Patcher GUI and then the Disabler.kext HERE Second. Run the DSDT Patcher GUI- Choose Darwin / Mac OS X (duh). Then check the 3 check boxes to the right. Select your hard drive. Click run DSDT Patcher button. let it do it's thang. Third. Unzip (if you haven't already) the Disabler.kext to your desktop. Use Kext Helper (probably found in the iDeneb folder in your Applications folder if you installed it when you installed iDeneb) Drag and drop the kext into the program. Type in your password and click "Easy Install" Go to Software Update... Choose only the 10.5.6 update for now, grab some dill pickle sunflower seeds, sit back and relax. |

There is no need for a DSDT patch for 10.5.6 final update, with the disabler and decent hardware you should be able to just update from the Software Update app.

Yes, i would agree with fassl here. DSDT/SMBios is good but not neccessarry thing. I personally use it as i can avoid all the injectors/enablers, smbiosresolver/smbiosefi, and efi strings. Using it won't speed up your system so there is no drastical change. It will help to have more cleaner (and acpi compliant) installation. That's why i am using it, and of course, it was fun to make and have everything go from dsdt. 10.5.6 does not require it so there is really no need to use it unless you want to. A couple of injectors, as they are very small, won't reflect on RAM. Some of them even inject their stuff and unload themselves. If you have free time you can play with dsdt, if not you can just install leo the way you're used to. Either way you'd be great :-)

Hello there,
i am using ideneb v1.3 on my asus maximus 2 formula mobo. Everything works fine. I boot it on AHCI, my ACPI settings are enabled and i did installation on vanilla kernel. Also i did chose ACPI fix, CPU fix and AppleSMBIOS for 1033 and ICHx for the chipset. As i said before it works perfectly, but when i try to upgrade 10.5.6 everything gone wrong. I couldnt even open the installation screen on ipc. I didnt boot after intalling ideneb 10.5.6 (i did chose the same settings as 10.5.5). And then i tried to do your way, everything gone fine but after the restart it didnt boot again. When i checked the error with -v, i saw that both installing idenep 1.4 or updating from 1.3 stops in the same command line and nothing happens (i cant remember the line but i can write it later). So anyone can help me please? |

The main problem with 10.5.6 update seems to be the new video "drivers". You may try to boot with -x and then install some kext package from 10.5.5 and repair and rebuild the extensions. That may help.
