Black screen after 10.6.4 update

Hey everyone,

Trying to get my new rig set up with SL. I'm using tonymac86's iBoot + MultiBeast guide (http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/...c-os-x-on.html). I am able to get SL installed no problem but it only runs with the -x boot flag (regular boot results in white squares on a black screen). I can continue on in safe mode and install the 10.6.4 combo update and multibeast. Once I restart, I can not get back in to the system. No matter what boot flags I put in, it goes to a black screen when the login screen should come up. I followed this guide (http://osx86.net/f19/guide-ati-radeon-hd46x0-t6193/) because I thought it might have been my DVI out, but it made no difference (logged in as single-user, copied boot file off flash drive and onto HD).

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?

Thanks.

ATI HD4670

Never occurred for me to try a previous version. I'll try 10.6.2 tomorrow and update.

Sorry for the double post, just wanted to update.

Attempted 10.6.2 with no success. Still won't boot. Any more ideas?

You need to remove SleepEnabler.kext from Extra/Extensions folder before you update or it won't boot.

I don't have an E/E folder.

I managed to get it updated to 10.6.2, but that's without using MultiBeast. I also have to have a DVI to VGA adapter in the second port on my video card to get any display in 10.6.2.
