Empire EFI and laptop
So I have a Dell Studio Core 2 Duo T5750 with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 sereis and PM965 intel chipset. I have been trying various distros to boot, but they all go to boot1: /boot, or cdboot: done and don't move from there. I don't get any farther than that, no vader, no command line, nothing. Can anyone give me an idea what the problem is and how to fix it?

I tried, but this is what I get from Empire EFI:
cdboot: init cdboot: filesize: 0004C8C0 cdboot: reading sectors: 0000009A cdboot: loading............... cdboot: done and I get something similar with a USB

Are using using ahci?

Yesh, that was the default setting when I went to change it. Nothing is wrong with the CD because it works on my roommats laptop.
