Getting apple logo error when trying to boot (after installation) HELP PLEASE!

Hi, a lot has happened in this past 3 hours. Just want to thank d_spice for helping me get started and now heres the problem.

I installeed Mac os x Leopard and everything went fine. When it said 'installation complete', it told me I needed to restart so I did and took out the disc and as it went to start up, I got a Boot0 error.

So I restared and put in my 'Rebel EFI' disc and it gave me the option to boot from the osx86 on the hard drive or choose to install it again. I clicked on the hard drive and a white background with the grey apple logo came on screen. (I admit, I had a smile on my face)

And after about 30 seconds or so, I get the little error that overlays the logo

And it just stays there. I had to repair my Windows 7 operating system to get back on here and write on here so help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I was wondering if you were installing Mac OS to a seperate partition or drive. I definitely recommend doing one or the other as it will affect your current install of Win7. You will need to get a bootloader installed that will allow you to use both.

I had that exact same Stop/Slash error come up on me as well, it was related to a couple of changes I needed to make in my bios.

Go into your bios and make sure the following is done.

1) Make sure you are in AHCI mode, not IDE or SATA (this will affect your current win7 install you will need to switchback to use it again)
2) Make sure your onboard lan, firewire (IEEE 1394), and even onboard sound is disabled.
3) Try booting again, its possibly you may have to do the install over again to get the desired effect.

Hope that helps!

I have installed mac os on a seperate partition and I have Windows 7 on another partition.

And also, does this mean that everytime I want to use Windows 7 I have to change the bios and switch back to IDE and everytime I want to use mac, I have to change back to AHCI?

And finally, could you provide a link to a bootloader for PC please as I can't get onto my Mac. (or should I just do this last?)

I can't find how to change it from IDE to ACHI in the bios anywhere.

I was told if I go to advanced and I would find it. But I don't see it.

Its all installed perfectly. Just this annoying error when trying to start it up. I had it at first before I installed the os and typing '-x -v' fixed it. But now it doesn't give me the option to type anything, when I put in the EFI disc, it tells me I can choose to boot or install. If I don't put the disc in it just starts Windows 7 up... :/

I'm at the same spot as you in regards to dual/tri-booting.

Just found this tutorial on insanelymac.
