making text and fonts sharper

I have a sucessfull snow leopard installation .
Spec:
Proc: Quad core q6600.
MB: Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L
Graphics: XFX Geforce 8800Gt 256-MB
Monitor: Viewsonic(1680x1050)

After installation i find that the text is not sharp on all the apps or any PDF that i try to read. Is there a way to make the text sharper. Now the text looks more or less distorted.

Did you check the resolution in System Preferences -> Display? Sounds like you're not using the monitor's native resolution.

If you mean the general look of Mac's "soft" fonts compared to Window's sharp fonts, then don't waste your time. It's intrinsic to how both os are programmed to render fonts.

Maybe you are missing LCD Subpixel Font Filtering?
