Sleep working perfectly on GA-G31M-ES2L
Sleep now works perfectly after a small tweak on GA-G31M-ES2L(BIOS ver F10).
All that we have to do is place a copy of SleepEnabler.kext under the root of the snow leopard installation drive(/) and another copy under /Extra/Extensions. Repair the drives permission . Reboot and all is fine as a normal MAc machine. Thanx to insanelymac community for all the articles so far. Keep it up !! Note: No need to use PleaseSleep utility any more |

That is weird. I updated mine but AutoSleep is still not working. Manual Sleep works with OR without PleaseSleep utility - just like in F8, F9, F9 beta, F10 beta BIOS. F10 final is just the same as the others.
I have both Sleepenabler in E/E and S/L/E. Are you running 32 or 64 bit? Did you recompiled your DSDT after BIOS update? You have something special up your sleeve? Last edited by MonkeyDLuffy; 10-09-2009 at 08:00 PM. |

BTW PleaseSleep works flawlessly on my end but i would love to have automatic sleep working w/o it. |

will give the F10 bios a try and test, if failed then your machine must be hiding something EDIT: we are talking about automatic sleep here right? not the manual sleep from apple menu then sleep? Last edited by sk1nhd33t; 10-10-2009 at 06:41 PM. |

The link that you gave was sk1nhd33t's own guide. That guide involves using of DSDT. Did you use the attached DSDT that sk1nhd33t used? That is pretty cool you made it to work, but why can't I make mine work. Of course, I repaired permissions and rebuilt Extension.mkext (also erased /System/Library/Cache/*). I even tried kext utility just to make sure. Placed it in /E/E - /S/L/E. Repaired permission in /E/E as well.
Just like sk1nhd33t, PleaseSleep works. But I'm still hoping for the native automatic sleep. You got one obedient mobo there! |

Just follow the guide given in the link that i posted. U def need DSDT. I guess the mistake that u have done is u might have placed SleepEnabler.kext in /S/L/E. U need not do so. Just place the kext in /E/E and /(root) alone. Rest should work fine. Hope u have rebuilt ur Kext using the KExt utility. |

DSDT help
I am definitely a newbie but got OS X (sort of) working on my G31M-E2SLrev 2 board.
I used the method of boot132 and using a retail install. The DSDT file I used was for rev 1. I've got everything working except NIC (which does work with this board anyway) and I can't get it to sleep or shut down. I also couldn't find a kext for my video card GeForce 9500 GT. I downloaded the DSDT file, do I just unzip it and put in my root directory. I need help! Thanks 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean. Free credits ($100) for InfMac readers. |
