Motherboard switch need help please

hello,
I have switched my motherboard and CPU and ram from a gigabyte ep35 ds4 to
gigabyte x58 ud3r rev. 2.0 and i7 950 cpu with 6 gb ( triple channel 3 x 2 gb )
have leopard 10.5.8 installed ( or is snow better for my cpu ? ) and was working fine with the old motherboard but now it takes forever to boot and feels like graphic port ( qe/ci is still installed ) and ahci/ide drivers need updating ( very slow )tried the kexts for my new motherboard with kext helper but with no luck .
can somebody PLEASE help me with this? don't want to do a full reinstall of my system that would take weeks for it to be as it is now .
with regards

Honestly man, if you switched your mobo and all that you need a fresh install. Snow Leopard would def be better for you. I would use Hazard SL 10.6.2. It's a pretty easy install and it runs great. Or you can try to get as vanilla as you can and use Empire EFI with a retail disc since you have a gigabyte board and intel chip now. Good luck.
