Hello community
I have a problem regarding my new Snow Leopard Installation with Time Machine and my s-ata dvd drive. Whenever Time Machine tries to make a backup, it just delays the backup without any error message.

The console says following:

Error: 35 Resource temporarily unavailableThe dvd drive works but sometimes it just gets lost by OS X when e.g. a cd is left in it for a longer period (half an houre). Then it doesn't even show up in the disk utility.

-the external hd for time machine is a lacie d2 quadra with firewire
-the dvd drive is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-212
-mother board: Gigabyte EP35-DS4

Maybe i should mention that i used the tutorial on lifehacker to install snow, and so i used the EP45-UD3P patcher

I guess its some kind of a kext problem but i couldn't find anything about these symptoms.
It would be great if someone could help me with it.

The error 35 message is related to the ethernet interface of your machine not being considered as built-in, latest chameleon as fix for it, also you may need to use the PlatformUUID kext with the right (or any will do?) UUID matching your ethernet cards MAC address.
The problem with the DVD drive could be related to power management, maybe Snow is trying to turn off the drive to save power but few DVD drives support this, you could try disabling the option to turn off HDs in System Preferences power panel.
