Hello all,

I have decided to install a retail version of Snow Leopard by using EmpireEFI (thanks to prasys for this package). But when i tryed to use it, i faced "waitng for boot device" problem, because my motherboard chipset wasn't supported. So i get a ATI ATA Driver optimized for Snow Leopard created by andyvand from http://www.infinitemac.com/f36/ati-ata-driver-optimized-for-snow-leopard-t4441/ and added it to Empire EFI package.

I have tested image on my hardware (in signature) and successfully get to install... errr... black screen. :) Here i discover that HD3850 is not supported. But image was created and if you want to install retail Snow Leopard on Phenom on motherboard with SB600 you mind find this image useful.

P.S: no kernel panic - no waiting for boot device

OpenCL is only supported by the following graphics cards:

NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT, GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GTS, Geforce 9400M, GeForce 9600M GT, GeForce GT 120, GeForce GT 130, ATI Radeon 4850, Radeon 4870.

May be black screen can be fixed with proper kext, but advantage of Snow Leopard - OpenCL will not work.

Shadow,

I just rebuilt my system with the following componets:

Gigabyte MA785GM-U2SH MB
AMD Phenom x4 9850 Black Edition
Memory: OCZ DDR2 D.C. PC8500 1066MHz 4GB
Geforce 9600GT 512MB
Realtek/ALC 889A
500GB SataII
320GB SataII

Haven't replaced the board and CPU yet, because I'm gathering the necessary kexts to input into EmpireEFI, files, and such.
