Anyone with a working SAPPHIRE 100245HDMI Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 rev 2

Has anyone been successful with this card ? If so I should would appreciate the steps that you took and a link to the files that you used. I have tried numerous different ways and still have had no luck in getting this card to work to its full potential. I can get it to work in 10.6.2 if i delete all ati kexts, but will only have 1024 x 768 resolution available.

Have you tried PCEFI 10.6 with the graphicsenabler on?

1. Make Sure you have 10.6.2 and have at least Chameleon 2 RC4.
2. Download Kext Utility.
3. Remove ATI4500Controller.kext and ATI4600Controller.kext from System/Library/Extensions.
4. Drag LegacyATI4800Controller.kext to Extra/Extensions
5. Rebuild caches using Kext Utility.
6. Reboot with -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes and if you get kernel panic in ATIRadeonX2000.kext reboot again with -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes
If this doesn't work (please test all outputs before you assume it doesn't) try installing this. Then boot again as described in step 6 above.

To use 4850, you need to put correct device ID into Info.plist of Controller & X2000 kext, too

/too slow.

Thanks guys, I have tried all suggestions and still black screen.
Here is what is strange about this card. I can log into my desktop with Windows 7 and RealVNC and it shows the correct info for my graphic card and my display. I can go to system preferences and change the resolution and frequency to all available ones that my card supports and it still has a black box on the actually samsung monitor that says "Not Optimum Mode 2048x1152@60Hz" but that is exactly what it is set as. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be, I am at the end of my rope on this one and about ready to buy a different card.

Download http://www.madrau.com/download/latest/latest.html and make your own custom resolution, it worked for 1440x900 when only 1440x1050 was available.

I finally gave up and purchased a EVGA GEForce 9800GTX+ and it works with only graphicsenabler=yes. Thanks everyone for all your help.
