Can I use the Voodoo kernel with 10.5.8?
I want to use the Voodoo kernel, as apparently it gives better performance on the Acer Aspire One.
Can I use the Voodoo kernel with the latest combo update or is vanilla the only way to do this? |

Hi,
Generally yes, it is no problem to use an older Darwin version on newer OS X updates, but you might also check out the latest AnV XNU 9.8.0, as it's using Voodoo sources on newer XNU release. ![]() AMD Phenom II X4 955 - ASRock AM3A770DE - 8GB DDR3-1333 - Radeon HD 5570 1GB passiv - BCM4318 802.11b/g - Snow Leopard Retail

AnV 9.6.0 is working perfectly for me on 10.5.8, well except I need a matching System.kext and Seatbelt.kext to have everything working... which would be greatly appreciated if somebody would upload... but yes, 9.5.0 should work just fine.
