Along a similar topic, are there any solid OSx86 versions and steps to take for this Dell Inspiron 1520 setup...

- Core2Duo 1.5ghz
- 2gb DDR2 667
- Sigmatel 9502 (built-in audio, which I think all 1520s came with)
- Intel GMA X3100 video w/ 1680x1050 res (though I doubt the res matters that much in getting it to atleast boot into the OS)
- DVD-CDRW drive

I've tried iDeneb 10.5.5 installing to an external USB HDD with no luck. No matter what choices I pick it always seems to show the apple loading screen, then a blue screen, then the display goes blank and stays that way (blank as in display is off). I've even tried waking it up, in thoughts that it was asleep like others have said.

I'm just looking for a good solid way to get OSx86 installed on this laptop using any of the 10.5.x versions out there. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is a known problem with the X3100 mobile gfx chipset, as soon as the screen goes black, pull the plug and don't touch any keys or mouse for 5mins 20seconds, then press a key and it'll come on, you can then plug it back in. When installed make sure you set a hot corner soes next time it boots you can just move the mouse to the hot corner and it'll wake up.
