iATKOS v7
Hello all,
Here is what I have done so far... burned the image using magic iso success first time.. I was surprised. tried installing on an 80g sata drive which has been formatted and ergo is empty ASUS M2A-VM mobo AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ Cpu Socket Socket AM2 (940) 4gb - 2x2gb ddr2 ram 667mhz 80gb sata for the installation I recently bought the 4gb kit to make sure that the system could handle it, and i have posted my system on other forums to get advice no luck so far, but it seems that my system is running a little slower and now wacky than b4. I also think that the mobo is not capable. Any how i tried installing it and all i got was the apple logo screen with a continuous timer and a no entry sign. I tried something else, don't really know what I did but it got to the point of being stuck on finding a root system device. Anyhelp will be great, as I am sick of windows and microsoft and I am a poor student who is saving up for a mac! Until that happens I wanna try this. |

The only destro I could successfuly install. I have an MSI P55-GD80 socket1153,8GB 1600 MHZ, i5 750 CPU (OC to 4GHZ, and aGTX260, if anyone has a P55 motherboard you can ask and I will post a walkthrough of installation and bios changes I had to do, I assume this will work with anyP55 mobo. some things do not work thou, like MIC and 7.1 channel, time machines. I was able to update to 10.5.8 through software update, I did a complet update to everything, itunes, quicktime etc. then I used the iAKTOS v7 dvd reinstlled drivers andpatches only, and working perfect. this V7 is a well done job.

Trouble Installing on AMD
This is my first go at a Mac so please bare with me. Wanted to see how a mac works before i decide on buying one.
Downloaded the iATKOS v7 and burnt to a DVD. Created a new virtual machine with 1 gb ram, 80 hard drive space and ran the install. after the install the screen was stuck at the gray screen with the apple. Did a reset on the virtual machine and went to boot single user. then it got stuck at some point (screen snap attached). Following is my computer setup: Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P Total RAM: 4 GB Video Card: ATI Radeon HD5750 1GB Any advice is very much appreciated Normal Bootup stuck point: http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/5...lbootstuck.jpg Single User stuck point: http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/295/messagel.jpg |

Thank you lovely people!
Many guys told me that this is my best shot for having Mac on PC - I've never used Mac but i developed Windows Mobile apps and now would like to do IPhone programming.
I cannot afford a Mac so want to try out hackintosh - I've bought an external harddrive of 300 GB to have Mac installed on it. Possible right? So that I effect my current PC windows xp in no way. I have Pentinum 4 (R) ThinkCentre 8113D5U 3 GB Ram and around 500 GB HD in PC now. Will that support? is it possible to install hackintosh on this PC? If it is possible, then anyone who've tried this in easy language how to do this? as am a programmer, web developer but I suck at installing such hardware challenging programs. Can anyone help please? Thanks. |

Trying to install
I can't seem to get the OSX installer to actually boot up, as soon as the apple logo pops up the computer crashes and reboots, I've been trying different bios settings but nothing seems to work, any tips would be awesome.
Running Intel i7 with ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard and an Nvidia 8800, i've tried all sorts of methods to install but nothing seems to work. Emprie EFI, iATKOS, plain darwin with OSX DVD. I got nothing here ![]() |

Stuck
Alright so I tried installing it on an old HP Pavillion. Installed with the default options. It boots to a graphical screen saying that the system is loading and then goes to a white screen with an Apple on it and just sits there. Obviously it's a hang or freeze of some sort.
I would've dual booted on my new build (AMD Phenom II X6) but it always has kernal panics (used the same settings on the HP as my custom build and my HP got farther than my custom build with no panics). What exactly should I do to fix this? Specs (for the Pavillion) Pentium 4 1.8 GHz 1 GB Kingston HyperX Memory (x2 512 MB Sticks) 80 GB PATA HDD CD/DVD-ROM CD-ROM AGP Graphics Card (of what kind, idk) Thanks! |
