MS-7376 (MSI K9a2 Platinum) and IPC 10.5.6

Hello!

I've been trying to install OSx86 for weeks now on a MS-7376 based clone with an AMD quad Phenom proc with minimul success. I'm able to boot to the DvD and complete the install with no problems but get the dreaded "waiting for root device" error when trying to boot from the HD after install. I have used the -f flag after each install completes.

I've scoured the net and several message boards and have found that the likely culprit is the chipset on the board. It's the SB600/790FX chipset.

As I said, I'm able to install without issue (have done so 100's of times trying various options) and even use the DvD as a boot disc to log into OSx. Once in, I'm able to access my Windows filesystem which is located on a seperate SATA drive. My IPC install is located on an IDE drive set as Primary Master btw.

When I boot from the disc and into the OS (rd=disk0s2) I don't have any network drivers, sound or video.

My question is basically this.

How could I install the same SATA drivers that the iso uses? it appears to load the motherboard drivers without any problems.

Thank you for any advice you can offer!

Bu what exactly happens ? Note that you shouldnt have installed both ntfs-3g and other systems cause it probably wont work. stick to one of them.

well, i can't see NTFS with macFUSE and NTFS-3g installed, even before i couldn't read NTFS partitions..

I have osx86 installed on one hitachi HDD (installed using GUID partitioning but EFI installation says i cant install it because it's not GUID partitioned.. which is weird because i know i checked GUID partitioning while i was making new volumes for installing osx (iPC) ), and vista installed on another seagate HDD

on vista, i installed HFSexplorer, and even there it doesn't show partitions..

osx86 on dv1000

I have been trying for a couple months now to install leopard on my dv1000 laptop, with no luck. I did however install XXX 10.4.11 with no problems.

Specs :
Intel Celeron M (sse2)
Intel 855 chipset
IDE Hard Drive
1.5 gb of ram
Standard network and sound drivers.

I keep getting kernel panics and immediate reboots, even with assorted flags. -V, -X, both dont offer any help at telling me what the problem is.

Ive tried multiple versions, iatkos, ideneb, and now XXX_10.5.6_Final, and still nothing. Ive tried every combination that i could think of.

Someone please point me in the right direction. Is it possible to install leopard with a sse2 processor and the intell 855 chipset?

Hi, can anybody tell me which video driver I should choose on iPC 10.5.6 for my EVGA 7300GT 256MB DDR2. I didn't choose any video, and now it has no QE/CI and only show 1024x768 res with no other options.

Try the 9f23installer here: http://scottdangel.com/blog/?p=56
Or you could go back and install osx again and choose the video kext for your card.

Thanks, that's a nice option as the DVD won't let you do a post install of a driver. I plan to try two different video cards. Seems like the best way would be to use EFI Studio and then uninstall and reinstall.
