Hy,
I have an "iPC_OSx86_10_5_6_Universal_PPF5_Final". I burnt it on a DVD-R with nero9 at 4x. Created a partition with "diskpart" using the comand series: create partition primary id=af active Then I've rebooted from the freshly burned DVD-R. I hit F8 and typed -x, the hit Enter. It displays some command lines then it halts on "Still waiting for root device". iPC OSx86
I'm downloading the iPC Public Beta (Leopard 10.5.6), but I'm not installing it as a OS, I'm installing it on VMWare Workstation. Is it possible for somebody to tell me what to do for the install? All I want is 10.5.6 to work and preferably networking. I don't care about audio. Once I get it working, I'm installing the iPhone SDK 2.21 (can't wait!).
My specs go as follows: Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 (2.00GHz) NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS Windows Vista Home Premium x32 as host VMWare Workstation 6.5 My VM is setup as: -25 GB IDE drive -Guest OS is FreeBSD 64-bit (I had it like that for 10.5.2, but I needed 10.5.3 and I couldn't get it so I'm using 10.5.6) -1 Processor -No Networking (To keep it from registering) Please help as soon as possible! Thanks everyone, Computer Age ![]() |

Working to get a MacTablet going
Hi, and thanks to pcwiz, Hara Taiki, and all those who are putting up with us noobs AND slaving putting together this great disk. I really appreciate the work involved.
Dual boot using a USB drive for MacOS, Vista on mothership. Without selecting any kernel (should default to Vanilla 9.6.0, right?), I can install. However, it NEVER boots, I just get the spinning wheel on the Apple screen, and then a reboot. Even on verbose, the reboot happens so quickly, I can't read anything critical on the crash info to tell you. Can anyone tell me why and how I might work around it? I can get some things working with Voodoo 9.5.0 Kernel. Best so far with Universal 9.4.0. Burned iMovies using iDVD! Can get wireless to work (intermittently) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Toshiba Portege M400-S5032 (TabletPC) MacOSX Leo10.5.6 | PC_EFI v9 | Intel Core2Duo T56003 1.83GHz 2MB L2, 667MHz FSB 64-bit | Intel 82801G ICH7 Family UltraATA Controller | Mobile Intel 945GM/PM Express Chipset | Intel PRO/1000 Ethernet | Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG | Sigmatel 9200 | Dual 1024MB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM | Matshita DVD+/-RW DL | BT 2.0 | TI OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller | 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter | External drive holding MacOS! Continue MacTablet Saga
Hi, and thanks again.
I am using the iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Final disk I have my mac-in-stein working again, as well as I ever did. Right now, I have... 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel Intel GMA 950...WORKS DECENTLY (some artifacts...no rotation) Intel ICHx SATA Drivers...works Legacy AppleHDA:Sigmatel 9200...does not show in "Sound" Voodoo Power power management...WORKS DECENTLY (no battery display) Dual boot time sync by Zephyroth (thank goodness) IOPCMCIA Family...seems to see card, but do not have driver Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5 (I wish I could use Vanilla kernel!) PS/2 Keyboard Patch (works) I then used ToshACPI.kext to activate bluetooth. Haven't tested, but appears to work. I set up TabletMagic, installed TabletPC driver, and it came up with an error (a kext was not installed correctly). I used kext helper b7, reinstalled JUST the errant kext, and my tablet works! ![]() OK, so now I am in business, for the most part. I want to use Vanilla, but it seems it ain't happening. Why not? I have Intel parts (in fact, most of the Toshiba is like a MacBook). Also, there is a Texas Instruments PCIxx12 device in my computer that has a OHCI controller, the 5-in-1 Card reader, and the FIREWIRE port! Anyone know what driver to use for this this?!? I'm actually kind of surprised installation went so smoothly. Had to enter in my resolution (1680x1050x32) during boot up but that's okay. Now on to some issues. When I move windows arounds, it'll start ghosting until I click on the bottom and resize it. Now, I'm going to have to be putting in my old Gigabyte X800XL soon, so I'm going to need to reinstall OSX I'm guessing. What option would you suggest I use because I had taken a peek at the ATI info in the install and I didn't see anything relating to my X800 XL.

Hmmm...unsupported cards?!?
I would not try this with unsupported video cards. If you see a driver, you can install it later by looking for the correct folder on the DVD, instead of reinstalling the whole thing. You listed no info about your setup...CPU, chipset, graphics card...

Ahh sorry about the no info. My motherboard is an MSI K8N Neo4, processor is an AMD 64 x2 5500+ and my graphics card is the Gigabyte Radeon X800 XL. I did reinstall OSX with the Radeon in it and it has been working just fine. Even got my Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000 working surprisingly. My only issue is that my monitor is stuck on a 1400x1050 resolution instead of the native 1680x1050 and it's buggin' the crap out of me. What steps can I take to remedy this?

One of the issues I had early on was badly burnt disks! Seriously, never thought it would be a problem, but I RESOLVED your issue (that I was having) simply by re-burning my image at 1x speed (after I checked to make sure my image passed the checksum)...
