I do know that you can get it off of sites like pirate bay but I don't like that site as it's full of porn pop ups. As for using it, I am trying to learn. I did infact get a copy, but I am now getting the waiting for root device error on two different distros. Oh and thanks for your support. If you can offer some constructive advise I would love to hear it. Thanks.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come off condescending. It sounded to me like you had no idea at all.

Thanks,
My PC has two Hard drives 1 Sata, 1 IDE, 1 Sata DVD burner,1 IDE burner, I have Vista on my Sata and I wanted to install it to the IDE. I had disabled the Sata hard drive in the BIOS as well as the IDE CD burner. I am getting the waiting for root device when booting the installl dvd not the installed OS. Any suggestions? Is disabling the extra in the BIOS engough? or do I have to open the box and disconnect? J883 |

Problem Installing MacOSX
Have iPC 10.5.6 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3 iso
My Machine * CPU = AMD Atholon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ * SMBIOS Ver = 2.5 * Motherboard = MSI MS-7376 * Chipset = 790FX * Memory = 4GB * 3x 250GB sata * 1x 320GB sata What I´ve tried, disabled raid, changed the raid from ide to AHCI. Tried booting with -v. And always stoppes at "waiting for root device" somthing. I´ve been searching for some solutions but there is always somthing about sb600 kext driver, does that one work for the 790fx chipset ? Or is there some PPFs releases with this driver that I can download and patch the iso with ? What can I do ? Please help ! Need OsX, hardware to expensive. |

can't install on asus f3t
Hi guys.
I'm trying to install this iso on my laptop Asus f3t TL52 (AMD Thurion 1.6) Chipset is MCP51 (NForce 430i) During install I used Voodoo kernel, installed Seatbelt. Chipset was set to deafult for nforce (don't remeber it's name) After install I get "Still waiting for root device" Tried patching it with PPF1.1, PPF2. After that new iso is not able to install. It shows an error after choosing the language during instalation startup. |

Apple NForceATA: found 0 units
Hi Hara Taiki, PCwiz & all, Can anybody advise on how I can work around this problem? I can install iPC but cannot boot into install,Apple NForceATA: found 0 units. I have a Presario F500 AMD Sempron. Chipset is Nvidia MCP51, nForce 410/430 MCP. I have tried many different ways but cannot boot. I can, however, install Kalyway 10.5.2 and Leo4all 4.1 and boot to desktop but I really want iPC and it's superior peripherals support and voodoo. Please help me. There must be a way to include what I need to boot.

Successfull iPC 10.5.6 installation on:
AMD64 Athlon X2 5000+ @ 2.80GHz Northbridge: NVidia Quadro NVS210S GPU Southbridge: NVidia nForce 430B MCP 4 Gb DDR2 800Mhz RAM C-Media 8738 Audio Realtek RTL8139 LAN NVidia GeForce 6600 128Mb RAM SATA II 500GB Samsung But I went into a lot of trouble 'till things finally worked out good: At first, the installation failed because the audio kexts from the DVD were corrupted. Then, I tried once again, without installing the audio kexts. Installation went fine, but I saw the mouse pointer was moving extremly slow. Somehow, I've managed to delete the nvdarwin kext. The mouse pointer was now moving, but, without the video card injector, it was useless. I accessed the Extensions folder to check out if the disabler was there. Well, there it was. But, I also found AppleCUPThermal.kext and AppleThermal.kext. I've deleted those kexts then reinstalled nvdarwin. And now I have a fully functional 10.5.6 on my AMD computer. Oh joy! ![]() Last edited by gabbo; 02-21-2009 at 12:16 PM. |
