No bootable device...

Hello,
First I have read through all twelve pages to make sure it hasnt been previously posted.I have a D955XBK mobo,2GB ram,a xfx 7100gs video card and can get IPC 10.5.6 to install.I use the 9.4.0 stageXNU kernel, the intel pro100ve ethernet driver, the ichx 9/10 sata drivers,ps2 device support and NVDarwin256mb.Everything seems to work fine as long as I leave the DVD in the drive. The hard drive light comes on and it seems to work from a combo of the optical drive and the hard drive. When I take the disc out I get"no bootable device - insert boot disc and press a key".Can anyone help me.TIA.

1. the ichx 9/10 sata drivers??? you have a ich7r chipset but that is not your problem or else you would get still waiting for root device
2. you could try download and install Gparted its a good boot manager maybe it will help with your problems
