So, first try. I installed RC2 with SSE3 Kernel and it worked without problems. I had QE/CI directly after booting (got the install video). No sound, but that was my mistake I think. I migrated the files and settings of my old RC1 system to RC2 during installation, it worked - except of the password! I couldn't log in! Booting in my main system wasn't working, I got a Kernel panic with the 'OS not set' error like crawle had. I'm installing new actually. Is it better to use GUID instead of MBR when using EFI?

@ naquaada As far as I know, you HAVE to use GUID to use EFI.

No, I'm now using EFI with my old system. Strange: xbench shows lower CPU results than in RC2, but overall it's faster.

Hi All Beta Tester,
Did anyone tried to install Rev2 on a AMD based laptop. Actually i tried to install Jas 10.4.8 on a seperate pata drive using my Compaq V6211 Laptop The install went smooth but the real problem is its not detecting my build-in keyboard. Please include some ktext in Rev.2 before preparing final version, so it can make laptop build-in keyboard work. Thanks in advance ... Waiting patiently.... Take ur full time "zephyroth" |

Hey, can ANYBODY tell me the advantages of this EFI stuff sometimes? I ask more than one time, but never got an answer. 2 Opteron systems: OSx86 10.5.8, Andy's 9.8.0 kernel, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Opteron 185 o'clocked @ 2 x 2,95 GHz (2nd system 2.6 GHz), ATI Radeon HD2600XT 256MB Dual-Monitor 2x HP L2035, 4 GB RAM, Griffin FireWave as main audio device, Marvell + nForce LAN, Asus U3S6 USB3/SATA6 card, 5,5 TB harddisk, Firewire 800 card, Apple Remote + eHome IR receiver, 2x Wacom serial graphics tablet, Canon Pixma iP4700, Logitech Internet Navigator wireless keyboard/mouse combination. EFI on AMD allow us to use original kexts (ACPIPlatformExpert ... etc) for a better stability.
It allow me to use my GeForce 8800 GTS 640Mo without NVinject. Its main purpose is to put our HackInTosh a step closer to real Macs. On Intel, it allows us to use vanilla kernel and original kexts (Apple Updates are possible without breaking your system). 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean.
