SATA or IDE DVD drive.

Hello all
after some serious reaching about my issue with DVD drive, I found out that issue wasn't my LG DVD rw but it was applenforceata.kext.
Not sure If medevil or anyone else have fixed applenforceata.kext issue to work with sata DVD drivers so I have come across many people that switched their sata DVD drive for IDE DVD and they claimed that the issue is now gone and they could now watch DVD on their osx86 and burn disk.

So I come to you forum! If I purchase an IDE DVD drive will my issue of "device not working" be fixed? Will I be able to burn disk and watch DVD on my macosx86?

it was HUGE fail..
I got a massive FEDE message cross my screen..
I was able to restore the MAC by entering Safe mode and replacing with default files.

Any other ideas?

No kext will let you write on a sata drive with an nforceata chipset. Just get the ide drive and you'll be fine.
