The AMD Turion Neo x2 is a weird chip....The only things I can recommend are try the Hazard Distro or iPC with the latest ppf patches.

Vintage Satellite U300

Well, I have to say I am spoiled as I have been running an acer one AOA150 on vanilla (well, pretty close anyway) up to 10.6.4 for a while tripled with XP and Sidux. It all seemed pretty easy (if you discount the learning curve on GPT/MBR hybrid disks) until I started trying to install SL on my wife's Satellite. So far, it still hangs just before giving me language selection on a Chameleon USB made from source and 10.6.3 on a second USB. I am pretty sure it is firewire related but I will have to get back to you on that when I figure it out. I did follow the thread up to this point looking for tips but it looks like most of the laptops talked about here are a bit newer.

Well, I can say you should try a different install method, USB installs aren't always the best, try a DVD distro or the Empire EFI method or the Boot 132 method if you want Leopard instead of Snow Leopard, you can also try different boot flags aswell.

Hello 00010!

I'm amazed by all the help you offer the people here and you really have my respect for that, so far I barely saw anyone who was willing to offer that much support for OSX86.

Could I ask for a bit of your support too? I have a Toshiba A300 laptop with a Radeon Mobility HD3650 with Leopard 10.5.8 and everything works perfectly but VGA out. I made a extra thread because my post is rather long and if I get a solution other people will be able to find it faster, the thread is here:

Thanks in advance if you decide to look over it!

I looked over your problem , I am sorry it has been a while since my last visit here , but it sounds like your machine does get somewhat confused about the displays, But basically , I think if you can find a way to disable extended desktop you should be good to go , but you would only have a Resolution of 1280x800 or 1280x768 on both sreens , or you could somehow configure it to disable the built-in screen when the external one is connected.

I need to know how I could install iPC on an External Hard Drive. I tried it before. I got to the install part. It installed on the drive. Then when it restarted I got "waiting for root device". I changed the SATA thing or whatever from Combatability to ACHI or whatever. Last time I had to do that to install it on my Internal HDD. And it worked. Now it doesnt work on the external HDD. Does anyone know how I even install iPC on an external HDD? Someone please help.

Hi, I'm trying to install Snow Leopard on my Toshiba Satellite A505-S6033.

When try to install Snow Leopard using methods like iBoot and Empire EFI, I am usually able to reach the beginning of the installation screen; however the trackpad, keyboard, and usb ports all stop working working at that point. Thus, I have no way to proceed with the installation.

The verbose boot displays the message "The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying." twice during the boot of the OSX installation. I have tried many things and cannot fix this issue.

The above problems occur when my bios is version 1.10 or 1.20. When my bios is version 1.30, the installation boot always hangs at "ACPI : System State [S0 S3 S4 S5] (S3)". I have downgraded to 1.20 for the time being.

My laptop has an Intel Core i7-720QM processor, a Nvidia GeForce 310M (512MB) graphics card, and 4GB of RAM . View the product page for more specs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Basically you need to plug in a USB mouse and keyboard before boot, They should work reguardless if you have a proper USB kext installed thats what I did when testing a Vanilla install of Leopard using the Boot 132 method on my L305, and that worked just fine, then once you install proper PS2 and USB kexts with the external keyboard , then you can use the built in ones just fine. You just have to make sure you plug the USB keyboard and mouse in BEFORE you boot, or you can try a prepatched version of OSx86 that has your USB kext and PS2 kext pre-loaded to install.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have already tried plugging in a usb mouse and keyboard prior to boot. They stop responding as soon as I reach the installation screen.

I have already tried several prepatched distros. Most of them just reboot prior to reaching the installation screen. I have not had any any luck modifying/patching iBoot or Empire EFI.

Once again, thank you for responding to my question. Do you have any other suggestions?
