VIdeo Choppy after enabling QE/CI

Hi guys,

I finally enabled QE/CI on my X1650 Pro. I need some advice as to how to smoothen out my DVD playback, it is a bit choppy.

Thanks

That could be due to the drivers you are using. Is all video playback choppy? Or just DVDs? The answer may narrow out the cause.

Custom Hackintosh...AMD Athlon X2 5000+ (2.6 GHz) on GA-MA78GM-S2H...Linksys WMP300n Wireless...ALC889a sound...ATI HD 3650 PCIe...1 GB DDR2 RAM...320GB Western Digital SATA + 200GB Seagate IDE HDD...Rosewill DVD-RW IDE...Running Kalyway upgraded to 10.5.7...All Fully Functional

i have an ati x1600 pro silent and managed to install a retail leo and after enabling QE/CI video worked like sht....the best solution is to use PLEX media center for Mac OS X....now i run smooth divx and [email protected]'t try yet 1080p. on iatkos v7 and on my first attemps to install retail leo when i've installed the latest version of plex...0.8.1 ...i only had sound...to not have this problem install first 0.7.15..make it work and then update

MY video is fine, accept for DVD playback as far as I can tell. I haven't tried DivX or any other format yet. I will try PLEX Media Center and see if it clears up. The DVD playback is not so much choppy, but stutters, that is best way I can explain it.

I have had stuttering DVD / VOB playback in VLC, while divx / h.264 / any format playable by quicktime would play uber smooth. Turned out that VLC 1.1.9 was the culprit. Downgrading to 1.0.5 made the video playback much smoother.

I couldn't get PLEX to play DVDs, maybe there is some steps I need to work through to install DECSS or something...
