Will Snow Leopard Work With My Hardware? (AMD/Gigabyte/Radeon)
Hey everyone,
I am currently running OSX86 10.5 on my computer and I would like to do the upgrade to 10.6 (Snow Leopard). I've looked through the wiki's any it appears as though my AMD Phenom will work with 10.6, and my video card should too (ATI Radeon X1950) However, it's my motherboard that I am not so sure about.. I can't find any posts in regards to it on OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard. My motherboard is a Gigabyte S-series GA-MA78GM-S2H. Has anybody had any success with this motherboard? Or know of a way to get Snow Leopard up and running with this hardware? Thanks! |

You need to patch to make it work on AMD system. But i do not reccomend installing in AMD system, I guess you are stuck at Leopard only.
Desktop: Mobo: G41/ICH7 | CPU: C2D E6320 | Mems: 2Gb DDR2 | Graphics: X1650 512MB | HD: 250GB SATA2 (Clean) + 320GB IDE (Win7 HP SP1) Laptop: K50IN / T5900 / 4GB DDR2 / 250 gb Sata / G102M 512mb / Atheros 9285 Wifi / RTL8139 / OSX 10.6.4 . EVERYTHING WORKS , only media keys not working. Playing: Counter-Strike Source , GTAIV , Resident Evil 5, Call Of Duty 4. XLIVE Gamertag: xuwannacookiex w/o Live Gold sub yet =( |

Just use Empire EFI and boot the Retail CD, install, use boot cd, install patched kernel that is the most best way, clean and you have control over your files.
