And I found NO NX/XD Options in my BIOS as ntkas.org has states here:

@Zephyroth and eddie11c
Is it possible to use netkas 9.20 universal speedstep kernel after 10.5.1 updated to 10.5.2 by the package of eddie11c w/o PC_EFI? As there is no way for my BIOS to support PC EFI,I have to stick to v1 DVD to install, then update it by the package, leaving the nagging 2 minutes black screen delay.

Thanx in advance!!!!

Regards!!!

As far as I know there is no limitation on running EFI anymore. All computers can run EFI since it's emulated. I also believe the new kernel still requires EFI. You can test it by renaming it then from Darwin type the new kernels name, this will boot from the other kernel. If you get a kernel panic you know you still need EFI.

Thanx for your quick reply!eddie11c,but I have tried for >6 times to get EFI installed and nope---after the line "System/Librarry/Entensions.mkexts from 4XXXXX" ect,I
got automatically reboot,so I wander that's the fault of my BIOS.I use Acronis OS Seclector for Windows(X3),SUSE and Tiger ,Leopard, does that make the strange issue
?Also I notice that after the command "./stratupfiletool /dev/disk2s1 ./boot_v8" the terminal output " “HFS+ partition detected, write xxx bytes ..xxx..write back xxx byte”,and when use "list -a /Volumes/Laopard/", there is no folder named "iamefi" at the root.I just follow the instructions in wikidot---did I make some mistake?

Here is my diskutil list:

/dev/disk0

You need to copy the EFI files to a directory on your Tiger partition name it something like efi, boot into tiger and open terminal.
Code:
sudo -s
##password
cd /efi
hdiutil unmount /dev/disk2s1
./startupfiletool /dev/disk2s1 ./boot_v8

Hello:

Same problem here with EFI installation. I also have an Amd Sempron. I don't know it matters of not.
The first attempt to install EFI was using an efi directory in the destination partition and booting in single mode user as described on page 3 of this thread. The startupfiletool seems to find the hfs partition but nothing changes when i reboot the machine.
The second attempt was using an usb flash. I run the startupfiletool from another leopard disk using the method described above by eddie11c. The startupfiletool seems to find the destination hfs partition, but when i try to boot from this partition the computer reboots. On the destination partition i have the 9.2.0 kernel included on the 10.5.2 amd update by eddie11c.

So I can't boot anymore from this partition! Any help?

Thank you all.

Dani.

Thanx eddie11c,
I will try your new solution later, but tell me if I get endless reboot loop again, how can I uninstall EFI ?And I must tell you that the disk ID of Leopard is different in Tiger (Last time as I remember it is disk0s1,and It keeps changing, dose that makes mistake?)And what is the slight difference between command "hdiutl unmount" and "diskutil umnount"?--I have checked the man of "hdiutl" and got no clues --:-)

Since I can NOT boot from DVD I suddenly come across an idear of installing Leopard from Tiger use ISO by Pacifist, but there are so many folders in ISO and I am confused which one to choose and the install order cos there are many packages with the same names.Could you please write a HOW-TO with detailed instructions to install by HDD for me?

Thanx a million!!

Regards!

Kael
