Just to update, my install wasn't as perfect as I had first thought.
On updating transmission "the Nforce Lan Freeze was back"
Also can't install Photoshop, illustrator CS2 and dreamweaver 2004

By the way, to install the new 9.2.0 Kernel, make sure you select to install it in customize.

I had it turned off by default.

I have never ran into this problem on my Nforce LAN. What chipset is yours?

I just installed the netkas "speedstep blah, blah" mach_kernel 9.2.0. The System Profiler sees both my cores now. It also shows total memory and bus speed correctly, but craps out in the "Memory" information section. It used to gather the correct information on each of my mem sticks. Oh well... Hasn't really changed anything else - otherwise working exactly as before.

Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine...

cgsheen - try the smbios-27 file from netkas after updating the kernel. Mine doesn't show correct ram info, but it has Manufactirer2 etc so its getting close.
