I just upgraded to 10.5.4 and now everytime I boot up after the lines of text my monitor will go into standby for 2 minutes and then come up and the desktop will load. I've tried everything to fix it, different kernels, QE/CI is working. It was working fine before I updated.

Any ideas?

Try:
- Chameleon efi
- AppleSMBIOS by macdotnub
- Modbin 9.4.0 kernel & system.kext
- Repairing permissions of the extensions folder, and of the whole disk.

Thanks for replying, I'm currently using the 9.4.0 Kernel and System.kext and tried your other suggestions with no luck! I'm beggining to run out of ideas as to why this is and how to fix it. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks.

what graphic card do u have?
I had the same problem, but it solved so:
delete nvinject and nvkush( if u have it) and use efistudio to add string to the boot.plist.
it make boot really fast.
Succes!

Hey thanks for your reply, I'm not using NVInject or NVKUsh, I was using Natit, I did as you suggested and added my Nvidia 7300 GS 256MB to the boot.plist but the same thing happens.

check again: u really have to delete any other drivers (kexts) for graphics!
Also, efistudio sometimes cannot change boot.plist because of the permissions, so try to change the permissions of boot.plist every body read/write, generate the string with efistudio, and then copy-past it into boot .plist (use textmate), repair permissions, reboot -have to work...

i know, man, how frustrating can it be - dont give up...
