I second that, due to the way it runs, it's probably not going to work as a mounted ISO within an OS.
HOWEVER, if you can make a partition on the hard drive and write the ISO contents to that instead, that may work if you can get your PC to boot off that partition. Then you can install the actual OS to a second partition (preferably another hard drive).
