Hello Community!
I have downloaded the Leopard 10.5.2 AMD EFI Rev.2 with the guide of WinLinMac01 over newsgroups. I burned it on DVD [4x speed]. I booted from it and came into Leopard menu. I chose german as default languge. I used the Disk Utility and made a partition for Leopard(called "leopard") and a second for Windows (called "DATA"). Iused Mac OS Extended
(Journaled) as format and I selected Master Boot record in the options. The DATA partition was formated with FAT. Then i went back to the Installer and chose the leopard Partition as destination to install leopard.
Then i continued and customized the Installation (graphic driver for hd 3870; AC97 sound driver ; ToH kernel SSE3 9.2.0; additional fonts; and the sb drivers. I started the installation and the DVD has been checked. The DVD check hasn´t had any errors. The installation went to the beginning of the the second girder of the X. It said that are about 5 minutes left.
Then it said that i should restart my computer. WHY? after the restart he only wanted to boot from the disk again!
I tried this with three different DVDs about 6 times.
My hardware:
MSI k9a platinium (rd580x+sb600)
AMD Athlon x2 6000+ 3ghz AM2
Samsung 250GB SATA2(in 2nd plug-in)
Samsung DVD SATA2(in 1st plug-in)
2x 512MB extrememory 2x 512MB GEiL all DDR2 800
Sapphire HD3870
PS. one time the installation went until the last minute and had the a unknown error
I hope you can help me!
THX

boot to the dvd
and go through the process of installing just like any os
but after you pick your hard drive to install it on
click the customize button to pick the packages you want to install

Insert the DVD into your machine.

Boot into the bios and select the first boot device as your optical drive to allow the system to boot from the DVD.

If all goes well the Mac OS X installer will appear. Select your language and wait for the next prompt.

At the top of the screen you will see a menu, go to 'Utilities' and select 'Disk Utility'.

Once in Disk Utility select the drive you wish to install OS X onto - this is visually represented in the left hand pane.

Once selected look for 'Partition' and 'Options', use either 'GUID' for EFI or 'MBR' for Master Boot Record, then press 'OK'

Name your new Volume as Leopard and format it using Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

Quit Disk Utility and wait for the Installer to reappear. Follow the prompts then select the drive you have just initialized.

Choose the 'Customize' option and select/deselect the packages you wish to install. Ensure that you select the appropriate boot loader and that it corresponds with the settings you chose earlier in the partitioner.

Once you're happy with that press 'OK'.

Depending on your system speed the install can take anywhere between 30 mins to an hour, so go have a cup of tea or coffee...

Once installed the system will automatically reboot and take you into the welcome screen and user account setup.

After all that you will most likely have small things that may or may not work correctly, so you'll need to search and dig around for information.

Good luck.

Its a common problem that can (sometimes) be resolved with a little patience.

Read this and this.
