I have a A8n32-sli deluxe motherboard. installation went well, removed geforce kexsts and was able to boot into "create your account" screen at initial hard drive boot. But it gets stuck there. So I tried to transfer my settings from my iMac, and it still got stuck after it asked me to unplug the cable. Now every time I try to login (my accounts were still created) it goes into the desktop, but right before it shows any icons or the finder bar, it kicks me back out to the login screen, oever and over again as I try to login until my pc finally crashes.
Anyone else have this problem? Solutions? |

@Tankk, your system should be supported by 10.5.1 release. Try it and see. If it doesn't work then you can wait for 10.5.2 and see if that will work. Nothing is definite though, people with the same motherboards are experiencing random problems. There are so many hardware configs out there that its impossible to get them all to work properly.

I want to install Tiger or better Leopard onto my PC:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ ASUS M2N-e Samsung S-ATA 250GB 16MB Cache 2GB 800MHz RAM (OCZ) apple USB keyboard USB optical mouse When I try to install Tiger, it doesn't find my hd and the partitions. When I try to install Leopard, there comes an error-message, that it couldn't create the folder .../.../.../BaseSystem.pkg.137k5Wy0 I tried it with several Tiger-Disks and several Leopard-Disks. Even Zephyroth Leopard-disk shows me this error, trying to install Leo. Is it actually possible to install Leopard on a S-ATA drive or do I have to get an IDE-drive? Thanks for helping |

@bacardi: for some chipsets, it IS possible. But in most cases (as far as I know) you have to inject a kext for your chipset into the dvd/image. You can do this with transmac. Have a look here: 3rd Party Drivers - OSx86. copy the .kext into System/Library/Extensions with transmac, burn the DVD and cross fingers, that it'll show your SATA-Drive.

do i have to do this with the leopard-image or the tiger image?
tiger shows me the partitions and disks in the disk-utility and I can format the partition into hfs, but in the menu to choose the installation-partition, it doesn't show anything. in tiger, i am able to choose the partition to install, but i get those error-messages. in leopard's disk-utility i get errors when trying to check, repaier or do anything else with the partitions. -bacardi91 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean.
