Unhappy boot0: error after Time Machine restore

Hi there,

i had a very good working hackintosh based on iDeneb v1.3 (10.5.5).
I used xnu-dev kernel 2c-beta as the default kernel, as it was working fine and i am running a vmware.
Then i decided to change NVKush against EFI-Strings and messed something up and the system did not boot anymore.
So I decided to make a restore from Time Maschine. The restore runs well, but as I was trying to boot i got the boot0: error.
After searching the Forum i was trying to boot my OSX from the IDeneb-DVD using "rd=disk0s2 -v" to repair the bootloader.
The System starts booting but after a while I see "CPU halted" and the hackintosh is switched off :-(

Any help out there ?

thanxx

TimeMachine doesn't backup the bootloader since it's on a separate hidden partition.

To fix, boot your system using the install dvds bootloader (just leave it in the drive and don't press anything). Once you reach the desktop, download and reinstall Chameleon.

Thank You

Thank you very very very much. I had this problem twice in the past and I had to reinstall every time after giving it up using fdisk.

Hats off to you.

Thanks

didn't work for me, as /Extra/Extensions files aren't loaded and system doesn't bootup
The error msg means, that the boot1 file can't be found.

also one thing i learned: don't use something like this: "dd if=boot0file of=/dev/hdY" because it kills your partition table (but you can restore from time machine again!)

instead use:
