i've used it twice on test partitions and it hasn't crashed either time. maybe I'm just lucky though. I let me computer sit idle with a mouse movement every once in a while during the update. I've also booted cpus=1 to system for stability... that might help a little more for the updates.

@elicip
if you wait about a day, I'm doing some testing on external HD's and can put an update on the Bay for what you might need. Which Version are you running now? 10.5.2? ![]() |

@ naquaada
so ever since I posted last, I cannot get it to work. Maybe it was a freak of nature or I just wasn't duplicating all the .kext changes that I had done before upgrading using this installer. Oh well tho. I've recently used Leo4Allv3 so I could simply have the Quicktime 7.4.5 and iTunes 7.6.2 that I talked to you about in another post. I cannot boot from DVD though, as my system isn't fully supported because I am using a MCP61 (nForce4) SATA controller. So instead, I placed this ISO on an external HD and have been using that for the sole purpose of testing everything. Works great... not like the original Zeph DVD, but oh well right... ![]() |

@ elicip
File placed on TPB for you to get at. This is a 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 mod-install created by Zeph's ASU 0.5 beta. Search for "MacOSXUpdateCombo_10.5.2_to_10.5.4" ![]() |

This file crashed my OS - did it worked for You ? I wonder what`s wrong with my system. I tried ASU, modified 10.5.3 file, modified 10.5.4-combo file - each and every one of them results in my OS never boots again - no errors etc. just stuck after detecting video card. Tried to delete gfx kext before update - it`s the same. Guess no update`s for me. I`ll just wait for new relase ( 10.5.1>10.5.2 update didn`t work for me either, while 10.5.2 relase works prefrectly. i Guess i`m just doing something wrong ) www.ultimae.com Panoramic music, for panoramic people. @Taisto
Are you able to boot with the "<b>-s</b>" flag and delete the graphics kexts manually? <b>boot with -s mount -uw / rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*kext rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.mkext reboot</b> ![]() |

Yeah, tried that - does not work either with or without gfx kexts. It just hangs. www.ultimae.com Panoramic music, for panoramic people. AMD Phenom II X6 3.5Ghz AMD 990FX Chipset Kingston HyperX 16GB 1600Mhz AMD Radeon HD6850 X2 CrossFire Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB |
