I installed the AppleNforce kext from my zephyroth 10.5.4 DVD even though it was the same version (1.0.3) and rebooted, afterwards I can now watch DVD's on both drives. I have not tried burning or anything else but at this point im pretty sure it will work fine.

BTW, i may have just needed to re-apply my kext through kext helper or using single user to chown the kext or what ever.
