"I had exactly the same problem, whatever I entered into "connect to server" window, I get an invalid URL error. I digged up the samba_fix for tiger from my HD, and it worked."

Posted by macbrush at insanelymac

The file were looking for is named, Simple Samba Fix for Tiger Update 10.4.6 Intel x86, or SambaFix_for_10.4.6.pkg.dmg
This should work, but i am unable to download the file anywhere...

EDIT:

I GOT IT FIXED!

Didn't have to use the samba fix
Check your System/Library/Filesystems for any alias and remove them (mine was afpfs)
Reboot

If that doesnt work, go back to that location and move the URLMount folder to your desktop (make sure it isn't in the filesystems folder anymore)
Reboot

Now move back the folder and repair permissions with disk utility, and reboot.

Everything should be working now, atleast it did for me

Edit2: Still when trying to connect to a other pc using finder (shared tab) it says the ip may be wrong or the pc is disconnect, but when i connect to the ip directly it works...

Some proof

Back to rev 1 and no problems in connecting to windows servers, even msn messenger works again. So it seems to be related. The only thing how will I get Efi bootloader mbr running? I could not install efi mbr bootloader with rev 1, there is an icon on top and leopard is not boating I got stuck with the booting screen. Rev 2 is working with efi mbr but then there is the network problem. Now I installed leopard rev 1 without any bootloader and boot from dvd.

I don't like that, because I would like to boot later from my sata disk with easy... , this was possible with rev 2 (switching between vista en leopard. Within Vista I also was able to start leopard with vmware. The goal is to make this happen again, but now with a working networ. Lapdisplay.kext and nvinjectgo.kext where also giving problems with rev 1.

So any one who can tell me how to install the efi bootloader from the rev 2 disk?

After all it was simple. I put in rev 2 unchecked system essentials, selected nvidia grafics kext, efi mbr boot and have left the rest untouched. To be sure no extra lan kext where installed. After install. The disk booted fine, I have network windows shares and messenger works and I can boot from the sat drive with easy... (can't remember the rest bcd? Not important.

Now I need the right things for dualscreen and when that's working I'm done and start using the hackintosh with installing the programs I like. Thanks every one for helping to figure this out.

For you who worked wel with the network in rev 1. Do what i did or follow the above procedure from P-J.
These where my steps

1. Partitioned with mbr
2. Installed Rev 1 with unselected kernells (no need for them on my AMD); unselected efi; selected the extra fonts, graphic stuff and lan, etc. for my machine.
3. Boot the leopard from DVD after the installation was done
4. configured the network, etc.
5. started the machine from dvd rev 2, unselected everything (even the system, funny it was possible); selected onely EFI MBR and nvidia kext. After 10 minutes the system was running as it should be. Network working and msn to.

Hopfully you can do something with my steps. Thanks again.

If rev1 worked for me i would do the same, but it has the older NForceATA kext in it which doesn't work with my system...

Still trying to figure out why msn doesn't wanna work, everything else is working...

Got some other fix for the different problems (the one with the File Sharing not working on the Hackintoth and the one with not connecting to another file share):

The Rev.2-install has some problems with file paths of some symbol links.

1. open the Terminal
2. 'sudo -s' for becoming root
3. look at /System/Library/Filesystems for the symbol link afpfs.fs. It has to point to '/System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare/afpfs.kext', mine was showing to 'System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare/afpfs.kext' (notice the missing slash at the beginning)
4. if it's wrong (without the slash): 'rm afpfs.fs' and then a 'ln -s /System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare/afpfs.kext afpfs.fs'
5. for fixing the problem of not being able to share something: look in /usr/sbin for AppleFileServer, also a symlink, which on my computer was also missing the slash at the beginning

I'm not sure what I'm doing. I tried the steps listed, but can't seem to correct the file. It is still missing the "/".
