Help with Phenom x4

I wanted to start this thread for those of us who either have, or want to build, a hack with an AMD Phenom quad processor. I have looked and looked, and have only found very sparse info on builds using the phenom, and almost no info on how to set them up software-wise. I'm sure I am not the only one who would find it extremely helpful if there was any area dedicated to the best Phenom builds and software fixes. Feel free to let me know if I am nuts. Thanks.
Also, please post what build you used, and if possible, where you located the software fixes for that build.
My build is as follows:

ASRock ALive-NF7G-FULLHD R3.0 AM2/AM2+ NVidia Geforce 7050 Mobo
AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3ghz Quad Proc
4 gb OCZ Vista upgrade Dual Channel Ram Kit
500gb Seagate Barracuda SATA Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce 7300GT 128mb PCIe Grapics card
ARK 6099-CA Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 400W Power Supply (case kinda looks like a Mac Pro case)
All parts courtesy of that place with "egg" in the name!

The only "Phenom specific" issue is generally EFi. You need to avoid a distro that uses PC_EFI v8 for the install disk (and most of them do...). For EFi you need Chameleon. Otherwise OSx86 issues for motherboards and chipsets are pretty much the same as they are for other AMD processors.

Here's my Phenom build:
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM S2H v1.1 motherboard
Phenom 9550
Onboard Ati Radeon HD3200 graphics (VESA support, no QE/CI)
LG GGC-H20L "Super Multi-Blu" SATA HD-DVD / Blu-ray / DVD+-RW / Lightscribe optical drive (in IDE mode)
SATA hard drives in AHCI mode
boots from external USB hard drive
Onboard Realtek RTL8111 gigabit LAN
Onboard Realtek ALC889a HD audio
TI 1394a controller
2GB PC8500 DDR2 RAM (1066MHz)

I used Zephyroth 10.5.1 for the initial install (before the lawlessppc release) - it worked because it was before PC_EFI v8 became widely used in AMD circles. Then I used Zephyroth ASU 0.5 to upgrade to 10.5.3 and 10.5.4. I added the Chameleon EFi for AMD K10 (Phenom). Runs great. I get a 175-180 in xbench if I leave off the disk test. Same test using a 2.2GHz dual-core gives 115-120.

Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine...

So is the Lawlessppc release pretty much streamlined for easy install on a Phenom build or is it still necessary to use chameleon?
Thanks!

You can also choose a "NO EFi" install with Leo4all v4.1 for AMD - just another option...

Lawlessppc's comment is well-taken... There's quite a bit of discussion HERE (in these Forums) about OSx86 and Phenom's! And, of course, his release was targeted for Phenom's. As for Chameleon, you'll want to use it... ( and completely avoid PC_EFi !! ) And lawlessppc includes it for just those reasons.
