first, you must do the updates from apple, and then "patch all the binaries" from the second working install.

you need 2 copies of osx.5 just to patch with marvins utility? Could you boot from cd and run it off a USB key? I dont have time/HD space to install 2 copies
The instructions are still vague on how to use this utility. |

ill tell u what i did.. to begin with had an complete backup of the leopard installation using time machine..
~installed the latest quick time (downloaded from the apple website) , ~replaced all the files in ~/library/quicktime with the ones from before the installation. ~garageband which was reporting it needs a latest version of QT to start .started all rite!! solved the issue for me .. not sure if the main files which are updated themselves are being replaced ... 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean.
