iatkos v7 on evga x58 help

This is my first post...looked through the forums & find it necessary to make a new thread!

Alright, so i followed this guide to install on iatkos v7 on my build:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=206434

It worked great when i only had the GTS 250 gpu.....but i recently added a GTX 260 to the system as the main GPU, and the 250 is now a dedicated physX card. I reinstalled iatkos v7 and changed only my video driver selection (to support the 260). After installation, it boots fine into OS X, but, when I restart...i select my OSX disc from the bootloader & it goes to the gray screen and then to a black screen....& once in a while i see the colored apple circle...

fyi, the install is on a separate drive...

Maybe something is messed up with the video drivers?

Thanks for the input!

Ben

Welcome to Infinitemac

It is good practice to select only the bare minimum options when you install. Selecting NO graphics options will still give you VESA graphics and a working install. You can then apply the necessary files to get your graphics cards fully supported.

1. Try using the following boot flags
Code:
-v -f -x
2. If the first doesnt work Boot into single user mode by using the flag
Code:
-s
Allow for the modification of files by typing:
Code:
/sbin/mount -uw /
Now lets backup and remove some things.

Code:
mkdir /Backup2
cd /System/Library
cp -R Extensions/ /Backup2
rm -Rf Extensions.mkext
cd Extensions
rm -Rf ATI*
rm -Rf GeForce*
rm -Rf NVDA*
rm -Rf natit.kext
rm -Rf titan.kext
rm -Rf NVinject.kext
rm -Rf NVkush.kext
Im not sure which graphic options you chose. Im only familiar with some of the older patched install disks so these newer version may fool around with EFI strings in com.apple.Boot.plist so if the above doesnt work try booting with -F as in cap F. Im pretty certain this will ignore Boot.plist if there are any strings.

Backup your install to a second drive or at least make a copy of your extensions folder via Terminal:
Code:
mkdir /Backup
cd /System/Library
cp -R Extensions/ /Backup
Im not too familiar with your particular graphics card but I have seen several threads related to to it. Give this thread a read. http://netkas.org/?p=109

A little more detail...I run the enabler, then the driver...and when it tries to boot:

It goes to the gray apple loading screen, freezes for a few moments...then black...then a blue background...then a black background w/ mouse....nothing after this....
