[solved] iPC OSx86 10.5.6 : no install
Hi everybody,
I spent a lot of time to find a solution to my problem. No response at time... Recently, I downloaded the iPC distrib to get an Hackintosh. My motherboard is a Gigabyte P35-DS3R with the latest BIOS (F13C) and AHCI activated I boot from my DVD freshly burned (burn at 2x), Darwin come and I put the -v parameter for verbose mode and... Kernel Panic... I don't understand where is the trouble. Why HFS detect a runtime corruption ? My computer configuration : Intel C2D E6550 Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R with AHCI activated and latest BIOS upgrade 2x 1Go RAM DDR-II PC6400 Corsair Twin2X GeForce 8600GTS 256Mo Asus optical drive/burner in SATA HDD for Hackintosh : Maxtor 120Go SATA + Maxtor 120Go IDE. HDD for Windows : Maxtor 250Go SATA + Seagate 250Go SATA On the boot, only the Maxtor 120Go SATA is plugged, on the JMicron SATA port (violet). I've missed something ? Thanks for your help, Fred Last edited by h4mzt3r; 03-03-2009 at 10:22 PM. |

With "vanilla" parameters, the boot screen prompt me to reboot the computer. Something is wrong with my ISO ? 'cause I burned it twice, same result... Thanks. |

if you have external USB ODD try to use it .... if the same problem comes, you have the bad ISO...we have similar system and i just plugged my external ODD to install my iPC 10.5.6 with vanilla Darwin kernel 9.6.0......but no AHCI

Hi Vlad, you're anywhere
It's the iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 (Final).iso (4.29Go). The checksum of this iso isn't the same of the checksum in the readme file... |

Hey Fred,
I just wanted you to know that i booted into the install process, didn't do anything with the BIOS settings.. although i don't want to install it with a junk graph card (7100 GS) i have until they give mine back... :/ So I guess it has to be something with the dvd you burned.. Other people on other forums told me that our mobo works perfectly with osx86, and i don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with Intel c2d... anyway, good luck on the quest |

Hi Vlad,
I tested the suggestion of Wayang, I plugged my ODD in USB with an adaptater, no change > KP again and again, AHCI activated or not, voodoo or vanilla kernel. So you're probably right, my ISO seems corrupted I must re-DL it, with my slow connexion speed (512kbps), I'm really happy... But I don't remember where I downloaded it (tpb, mininova, demonoid, ... ?). Could you tell me where you have find your ISO ? Thanks for your support in my quest ! |

Well i used a specific search engine to find it. Just type in the full name and youll see it somewhere on top of the list. Its 4.3 gb i think. I dont remember if the tracker was pb or dmnd..
i didnt check the checksum but it worked for me 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean. Free credits ($100) for InfMac readers. |
